Grease Traps and Interceptors

ProCast Products’ grease interceptors or grease traps, as they are also known, are best utilized to properly regulate commercial waste pollutants, such as grease from restaurants, institutional kitchens and commercial establishments.

State-wide jurisdictions reiterate the importance of maintaining the levels of effluent water with products and accessories designed to adhere to state-wide sanitation requirements. Grease traps (grease interceptors) can safely and effectively filter, intercept and remove large amounts of grease, oil and debris before they enter disposal systems.

Maintenance costs associated with plugging or failing sewage systems can be considerably reduced with the use of grease traps (grease interceptors). Grease traps (grease interceptors) are durable, safe, high-quality solutions to maintaining fresh water standards.

Pro-Cast Grease Interceptor. Grease Interceptor Specifications. The primary commercial waste pollutant is grease from restaurants, commercial and institutional kitchens. Grease entering the sewage collection system places additional maintenance and treatment burdens on the sanitation districts. The grease interceptors illustrated throughout the commercial waste section of this website represent the style of interceptors and accessories required by jurisdictions within the state.

Maximum amounts of "dispersed" grease and oil, as well as "floatable" oil and grease, introduced to the publicly owned treatment works are set a "Specific Pollutant Limitations" by the local sanitation district, and the "National Categorical Standards". Most agencies use the Uniform Plumbing Code Appendix 1-1, H-1 as sizing criteria for grease interceptors. A reprint of this criteria is contained in the Engineering Information section of this website.

The following guidelines should be followed to maximize operation efficiency, and minimize nuisance caused by the installed interceptor.
